You’re not the only one.

I work with clients every day who feel bad about their relationship with money. It doesn’t matter how much money you have or how high your income is, financial shame does not discriminate. Financial shame (“I am bad because of what I do or don’t do with money”) and financial anxiety grow in silence. This is why the less you talk about it, the worse you feel. And because most people were taught not to talk about money and many were taught not to talk about feelings, financial shame and anxiety can be overwhelming, isolating and really lonely to manage.

When my clients start to talk openly and honestly about how they have been using or relating to money in the privacy of therapy, a weight starts to lift. They start to feel a sense of relief and a hope that there is another way. As my clients explore the root of what has been driving their money behaviors, beliefs and emotions, they make some really powerful connections and realize their issues with money go much deeper than they realized. They start to take actions that align with what they really want and that is where change happens.

How I work

Therapy is what you make it.

As a therapist for over a decade and a long time client of therapy, I firmly believe that you get out of therapy what you put in.

In sessions with me, we will explore together how your relationship with money came to be. Where did this anxiety around money come from? Whose shame around money are you carrying?

Then we take that information and chart a path forward . We work through and heal the emotional, psychological and relational barriers keeping you from using money as a tool and resource to live the life you want to be living.

We are a good fit if —

  • You are open and curious.

  • You are willing to consider your role in the conflict between you and your partner. (if applicable).

We are not a good fit if —

  • You are looking for a quick fix.

  • You aren’t able or willing to commit to the therapy process.
